Drefnie is excited to experience transit in DC and learn more about what transportation work looks like in a new region!
Drefnie (she/her) is a junior transportation planner with an interest in bus access and planning. She enjoys utilizing data to drive analysis towards equitable solutions for transit challenges. Much of her interest in public transportation began as she increasingly utilized the bus growing up outside of New York City. During her time at Northeastern, she furthered her interest in transit through experience with the MBTA’s Office of Performance Management and Innovation, where she completed data and spatial analysis projects including updates to service delivery and creating a Python script in support of equitable transit-oriented development (TOD) efforts. Later in college, she worked in coalition with neighborhood residents during her time at Fenway Community Development Corporation to advocate for the improvement of a local bus route. Drefnie also has experience with broader transportation planning work and completing grant, fieldwork, and final report tasks during her time as an intern with Stantec’s Urban Mobility Group.
