Foursquare ITP assisted the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Transportation, Infrastructure, and Sustainability (oTIS) in development of The Philadelphia Transit Plan. The plan builds off of Connect, Philadelphia’s strategic transportation plan, and outlines a vision for public transit across the City. This plan represents the first comprehensive look at transit service across the city in decades and is the first step in modernizing Philadelphia’s transit network. Foursquare ITP was involved in several tasks on the project and helped manage and coordinate plan development across a range of stakeholders and institutions. Key contributions of our study team include: refinement of a citywide bus priority corridor network; development of bus priority alternatives for a set of the most important bus transit corridors in Philadelphia; development of new transit service policy goals; and refinement of a citywide high-capacity transit vision.
