Congratulations to Jessica Alvarez, PTP and Reinaldo Germano! They are two winners of the highly competitive Class of 2023 40 Under 40 Award from Mass Transit Magazine.
Jessica has been with Foursquare ITP for nine years and currently serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and as the BRT, Bus Priority, and Corridor Planning service area lead. She has shepherded new approaches to microtransit planning and has presented at major conferences as a subject matter expert on microtransit. Jessica also has expertise in creating detailed travel flow analyses, developing transit ridership estimates, transit development plans, long-range vision plans, comprehensive operational analyses, and monitoring of operational activities. She specializes in service analysis, forecasting ridership, and working with partners and the public to develop service recommendations. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, an MS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Transportation, and an MA in Urban and Regional Planning.
Reinaldo has been with Foursquare ITP for five years, currently serving as a project manager and senior transportation planner. He recently completed a major report for APTA about the transit workforce shortage, for which he led survey development and research efforts, developed reports and other deliverables, and presented the report findings in several live and on-demand formats. Additionally, Reinaldo has served as project manager for Georgia DOT’s intercity bus study, which identified unmet intercity transportation needs and developed recommendations for potential intercity bus expansion. Outside of Foursquare ITP, he manages a listserv designed to inform planners about planning-related happenings, networking happy hours, job openings, and events of interest to those in the planning profession in the DC area. Reinaldo holds master’s degrees in urban planning and transportation management and a bachelor’s degree in architecture.
